Welcome to PDFMyLove ("Company," "we," "our," "us"). By accessing or using our website at https://pdfmylove.com (the "Website") and any tools, features, or services offered (collectively, the "Services"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service (these "Terms").

If you do not agree to these Terms, you may not access or use our Services. These Terms apply to all visitors, users, and others who access or use our Services.

By using our Services, you represent and warrant that you are at least 13 years of age. If you are under 13, you may not use our Services. If you are between the ages of 13 and 18, you represent that your legal guardian has reviewed and agrees to these Terms.

2. Description of Services

PDFMyLove provides free online tools for working with PDF documents, including but not limited to:

How Our Services Work: When you use our PDF tools, your files are temporarily uploaded to our secure servers for processing. Files are processed using our custom WordPress plugins and third-party APIs. All uploaded files are automatically and permanently deleted from our servers within 1 hour of processing completion.

We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue any aspect of our Services at any time without notice. We shall not be liable to you or any third party for any modification, suspension, or discontinuation of the Services.

3. User Responsibilities and Prohibited Conduct

You are solely responsible for your use of the Services and any content you upload, process, or generate. You agree not to:

• Illegal Content: Upload, process, or distribute any documents that contain illegal, harmful, threatening, abusive, harassing, defamatory, vulgar, obscene, or otherwise objectionable material.
• Intellectual Property Infringement: Upload documents that violate any copyright, trademark, patent, trade secret, or other intellectual property right of any third party.
• Malicious Code: Upload files containing viruses, Trojan horses, worms, time bombs, or any other computer code designed to interrupt, destroy, or limit the functionality of any computer software or hardware.
• Excessive Use: Use automated scripts, bots, or other means to access or use the Services in a way that exceeds reasonable usage limits or imposes an unreasonable load on our infrastructure.
• Reverse Engineering: Attempt to decompile, reverse engineer, disassemble, or otherwise derive the source code of our Services.
• Interference: Interfere with or disrupt the integrity or performance of our Services or the data contained therein.
• Unauthorized Access: Attempt to gain unauthorized access to our Services, user accounts, computer systems, or networks.

We reserve the right to investigate and take appropriate legal action against anyone who violates these provisions, including removing offending content and terminating access to our Services.

4. Intellectual Property Rights

4.1 Our IP

The PDFMyLove website, including all text, graphics, logos, icons, images, audio clips, digital downloads, data compilations, and software, is our property or the property of our licensors and is protected by international copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws. The "PDFMyLove" name and logo are our trademarks.

4.2 Your IP

You retain all ownership rights to any documents, files, or content you upload to our Services ("User Content"). We do not claim any ownership over your User Content.

4.3 License to Process

By using our Services, you grant us a limited, non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to access, use, reproduce, and process your User Content solely for the purpose of providing, maintaining, and improving the Services. This license exists only for as long as necessary to complete the processing you request and for our internal technical purposes.

Important: We do not use your User Content for any purpose other than providing the requested Services. We do not train AI models, create derivatives, or analyze content beyond what is technically necessary for processing.

5. Data Processing and Deletion

Temporary Storage: To provide our PDF processing services, your files are temporarily stored on our servers. This is a technical requirement for server-side processing.

Automatic Deletion: All uploaded files are automatically and permanently deleted from our servers within 1 hour of processing completion. Our cleanup script runs every 5 minutes and removes any files older than 1 hour.

No Backup Copies: We do not create backups, archives, or copies of your files. Once deleted, files cannot be recovered.

No Human Access: Our personnel do not access, view, or review the content of your uploaded files. Processing is fully automated.

Your Responsibility: You are solely responsible for maintaining backup copies of any important documents you process through our Services. We strongly recommend that you do not upload the only copy of any important document.

6. Third-Party Services

Our Services integrate with third-party services, including:

• aPDF API: Used for PDF processing functionality
• Content Delivery Networks (CDNs): For website performance optimization
• Analytics Services: For anonymous usage statistics (Google Analytics)

These third-party services have their own terms of service and privacy policies. We do not control and are not responsible for the content or practices of these third-party services. Your use of these third-party services is at your own risk.

We share only the minimum information necessary with these third parties to provide our Services. For PDF processing, files are transmitted to aPDF API and processed according to their security practices.

7. Disclaimer of Warranties

YOUR USE OF OUR SERVICES IS AT YOUR SOLE RISK. THE SERVICES ARE PROVIDED ON AN "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" BASIS WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EITHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED.

TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, WE DISCLAIM ALL WARRANTIES, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO:

• IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT
• WARRANTIES THAT THE SERVICES WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, ERROR-FREE, SECURE, OR VIRUS-FREE
• WARRANTIES REGARDING THE ACCURACY, RELIABILITY, OR QUALITY OF ANY PROCESSED DOCUMENTS

NO ADVICE OR INFORMATION, WHETHER ORAL OR WRITTEN, OBTAINED BY YOU FROM US OR THROUGH THE SERVICES SHALL CREATE ANY WARRANTY NOT EXPRESSLY STATED IN THESE TERMS.

8. Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, IN NO EVENT SHALL PDFMYLOVE, ITS OFFICERS, DIRECTORS, EMPLOYEES, OR AGENTS BE LIABLE FOR:

• Direct Damages: ANY DIRECT DAMAGES EXCEEDING THE AMOUNT YOU PAID FOR THE SERVICES (WHICH IS ZERO, AS OUR SERVICES ARE FREE)
• Indirect Damages: ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES
• Data Loss: LOSS OF DATA, FILES, DOCUMENTS, OR BUSINESS INFORMATION
• Processing Errors: ERRORS OR INACCURACIES IN PROCESSED DOCUMENTS
• Service Interruption: ANY INTERRUPTION OR CESSATION OF TRANSMISSION TO OR FROM OUR SERVICES

THIS LIMITATION OF LIABILITY APPLIES WHETHER THE ALLEGED LIABILITY IS BASED ON CONTRACT, TORT, NEGLIGENCE, STRICT LIABILITY, OR ANY OTHER BASIS, EVEN IF WE HAVE BEEN ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF SUCH DAMAGE.

SOME JURISDICTIONS DO NOT ALLOW THE EXCLUSION OR LIMITATION OF CERTAIN DAMAGES, SO SOME OF THE ABOVE LIMITATIONS MAY NOT APPLY TO YOU.

9. Indemnification

You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless PDFMyLove and its officers, directors, employees, and agents from and against any and all claims, damages, obligations, losses, liabilities, costs, and expenses (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising from:

• Your use of and access to the Services
• Your violation of any term of these Terms
• Your violation of any third-party right, including without limitation any copyright, property, or privacy right
• Any claim that your User Content caused damage to a third party

This indemnification obligation will survive these Terms and your use of the Services.

10. Termination

We may terminate or suspend your access to our Services immediately, without prior notice or liability, for any reason whatsoever, including without limitation if you breach these Terms.

Upon termination, your right to use the Services will immediately cease. If you wish to terminate your use of the Services, you may simply discontinue using them.

All provisions of these Terms which by their nature should survive termination shall survive termination, including, without limitation, ownership provisions, warranty disclaimers, indemnity, and limitations of liability.

11. Governing Law and Jurisdiction

These Terms shall be governed and construed in accordance with the laws of [Your Country/State], without regard to its conflict of law provisions.
